J.K. Rowling explicitly opposes the existence of trans people
She has claimed trans people don't exist, that being trans is inherently misogynistic, and has started a fund for legal challenges to the right of trans people to exist in society. These legal challenges have already led to trans people being legally barred from gendered public spaces in the UK.
As a result, the LGBTQ+ community broadly wants people to stop supporting Harry Potter and properties that give money to Rowling to promote hate.
